Dear Justin,

Try 7-aminoactinomycin D, which can be excited by 568 nm line of
Kr/Ar laser and emits red fluorescence (>610 nm). This DNA dye just works fine in
fixed cells without needing any permeabilisation or digestion procedures,
just as DAPI in UV mode or hematoxylin stain in bright field.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
