                   POST DOCTORAL POSITIONS:

   OPTICAL STUDIES OF SYNAPTIC FUNCTION AND PLASTICITY IN THE CNS

Applications are invited for a number of two- and three-year postdoctoral
positions in the Division of Neurophysiology, to join a team of
investigators using electrophysiological and advanced optical methods
(including multiphoton and confocal laser scanning microscopy and high
speed CCD imaging) to study mechanisms of neurotransmission and plasticity
at the level of individual visualised synapses in the central nervous
system. Experience with intracellular and voltage clamp recording is
highly desirable, but applicants with a strong background in physics or
engineering will also be considered.

Salary will be in the range 18,200 to 29,000 per annum, plus 1,044 London
Allowance, dependent on experience, and is eligible for the MRC Pension
Scheme option.
