Mandisa Mbali is a visiting researcher from the Center for Civil Society of
the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa. A historian by training,
she has a research background in the history of AIDS-related policy-making
in South Africa. She is also a member of the Treatment Action Campaign
(TAC), a civil society movement in South Africa for access to HIV treatment
for all who need it. The aim of her Minneapolis visit is to share her
research and to build relationships among those of us who are concerned by
the many serious questions surrounding access to essential
medicines?importantly, anti-HIV medication?in South Africa and other
developing countries.
This discussion is free and enthusiastically welcomes public participation.
