Looking for some way to give something back and have the opportunity to meet
new people? VOLUNTEER! Check out these opportunities with your extra time
over the break...
- *Afterschool Enrichment Nights**- *Help with the Project for Pride in
Living’s <http://www.ppl-inc.org/> (PPL) afterschool program at 12th and
Como Avenue. There are two age groups: 1st-3rd graders meet
Monday-Wednesday, and the older group 4th-8th graders meet
Tuesday-Thursday. Mondays and Tuesdays evenings need tutors, and Wednesday
and Thursdays are enrichment nights, which usually involve going on a field
trip to museums, or other similar community organizations. Very
noncommittal--interested individuals could participate once or twice if

*Help with a neighborhood playgroup in Marcy Holmes/Dinkytown area- *Play
with toddlers, learn child development, and participate in story time and
activities. Help is need every Monday from 9-12:00 p.m. Contact Jerry at

*New Seward bookstore needs your help!-*A new bookstore that opened on
Franklin Avenue across from Pizza Luce is looking for volunteers to work in
the store each week. It’s a collectively own, progressive bookstore, with
lots of great titles! Stop by for more info:

March 15th:
Help Sierra Club write letters in support of clean air! Event is from 5-7
at Common Roots Cafe.Join Sierra Club for good food, good drinks, good
company, and good letter-writing to support clean air! Open to all ages.
March 16th:
Help with Data Entry at the Sierra Club North Star Chapter office! Event
is from 6pm to 8:30pm. Sierra Club has hundreds of petitions in support
of strong public health protections from the EPA! Now we need your help to
enter data from those petitions so we can deliver our national petition with
100,000 signatures to President Obama. Please join us for a data entry

database. Training, pizza and refreshments will be provided.

a wide variety of volunteer opportunities to be explored at the *Brian

donation pick-up drivers, or setting up for food distribution programs (MAC

Classes are in a huge variety of subjects including but not limited to
technology, art, politics, health and wellness, personal growth, bicycles,
dance, philosophy, cultural studies, sex and relationships, business, film,
and theater (check out the class named Dinner Theater- eat delicious food,
have creative discussions, and play theater games on Friday nights in St.
Paul!) to name a few. Come and Investigate a new topic or put together your
own class and learn how to inspire others. You won't regret it.
