The Georgetown University Department of Classics invites applications for a 
one-year position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor for the 
2008-2009 academic year. The teaching load will be three courses per 
semester. We seek candidates able to teach Latin and Greek at all 
undergraduate levels; ability to teach Roman history is also desirable. The 
successful candidate will be expected to have the Ph.D. in hand when he or 
she takes up the position. [Important note: Applicants for the tenure-track 
position advertised in the September issue of Positions for Classicists and 
Archaeologists who wish to be considered for this position should indicate 
their interest by e-mail; they need not reapply.]

Candidates should send a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, and 
three letters of recommendation to Catherine Keesling, Chair, Department of
