Call for Applications: "Dealing with complexity in the life sciences,"
Sixth European Advanced School in the Philosophy of the Life Sciences
(EASPLS), 7-11 September 2020, Konrad Lorenz Institute for Evolution
and Cognition Research (KLI) in Klosterneuburg, Austria (close to
Vienna). Young scholars (PhD students and early post-doctoral
researchers) in the history, philosophy and social studies of the
biological, biomedical, and environmental sciences are invited to

Call for Applications: Sherwin B. Nuland Summer Institute in
Bioethics, 8 June - 24 July 2020, Yale University. The program is an
intensive 7-week summer immersion for U.S. and international
professionals and students from varying disciplines. Applications are
processed on a rolling basis: our next wave of applications is due on
31 December 2019 and applications will continue to be accepted through
spring (until the class is full).

Call for Abstracts: The Committee for Integrated History and
Philosophy of Science invites the submission of individual paper and
poster abstracts for "&HPS8," the 8th conference in the series
Integrated History and Philosophy of Science. We seek contributions
that genuinely integrate the historical and philosophical analysis of
science, or discuss methodological issues surrounding the prospects
and challenges of integrating history and philosophy of science.

Funded PhD: The Foundations of Animal Sentience project (ASENT), a
five-year ERC-funded project led by Dr Jonathan Birch, aims to study
the methodological foundations of animal sentience research and the
link between sentience and animal welfare. The project seeks to
recruit one PhD student, who will receive full funding for a 4-year

Funded PhDs: The Central European University (CEU, Budapest-Vienna)
invites applications for two new and fully funded interdisciplinary
Joint PhD Fellowships starting in the 2020-21 academic year in the
thematic area of "Understanding Humanity." One Fellow will pursue a
PhD in Philosophy and the other one a PhD in Comparative History.

Write-Up Fellowships: The Konrad Lorenz Institute for Evolution and
Cognition Research (KLI) in Klosterneuburg, Austria (close to Vienna)
announces five "Writing-Up Fellowships" for late-stage PhD students
working in inter and transdisciplinary sustainability science with a
focus on theoretical dimensions (conceptual, methodological, and
epistemological) of sustainability research. The fellowships last 3-6
months with an expected start date in September 2020. Deadline: 30
January 2020.

the Life Sciences (IHPLS), Israel, seeks applications for a 2-year

Technology is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure-track
appointment as Assistant Professor of Science & Technology Studies.
Candidates should have a research specialization that focuses on
