Students of ISHPSSB! The time has come to elect a new student
representative. I've had a great tenure, but I must step down.
Included below is the bio for the only current nominee. Voting (such
as it is) will occur during the student meeting.

Indeed, the election is not the only item on the student meeting
agenda! We will also be discussing the future of student-run ISH
off-year workshops, and providing a forum for issues that you want
your rep to bring to the ISH committee prior to the general meeting.

STUDENT GENERAL MEETING
Monday 13 July 2009, 1330-1430
location TBA

========

Student Representative nominees:
Joeri Witteveen:
Joeri has degrees from Maastricht University (in The Netherlands) and
the London School of Economics. He studied at UC Berkeley and was a
pre-doctoral fellow at the Konrad Lorenz Institute for Evolution and
Cognition Research before starting his PhD in the HPS department at
the University of Cambridge in Fall 2008. He is interested in--and
has a lot to learn about--a range of topics in general philosophy of
science, sociology of knowledge, and the history of biology. His PhD
research is in the philosophy of biology, where he is interested in
the levels of selection, developmental evolution, and cultural
evolution, among other topics. In his spare time he reads more
philosophy, goes running, visits Vienna, and enjoys Cambridge.

As a student representative, Joeri would like to help find
opportunities for graduate travel funding for travel to ISHPSSB 2011.
In addition, he would like to set up a listserv for graduate students
to exchange questions and advice about job applications, and as a
means to continue discussions that started at meetings.
