ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY, Tempe, AZ

Assistant Professor (tenure-track), beginning fall semester, 2001.  Two
courses/semester, both graduate and undergraduate level; thesis supervision;
usual non-teaching duties.  Ph.D. in Philosophy prior to appointment and
evidence of quality research and teaching potential/experience are required.
Candidates must provide evidence of 1) potential for interaction with
colleagues and projects in the biological, physical, social, linguistic, or
cognitive sciences, and evidence (appropriate to the candidate's level of
experience) of a history of such interaction; 2) scholarly excellence in
philosophy; and 3) teaching competence in philosophy of science.  Salary
competitive.  Semester calendar.  Candidates must submit a complete dossier
including three letters of reference, a writing sample, and a curriculum
vitae containing (a) publications and professional activities; (b) extent to
which Ph.D. requirements have been completed and expected date of completion
of remaining requirements; (c) areas of specialization and competence; (d)
