As previously announced, a thematic ISHPSSB off-year workshop on
"Natural History and Evolution Just Before Darwin" will be held in
the city of Itu, Sao Paulo State, Brazil, from 7 to 9 December 2008.
This workshop is included in the series of events commemorating the
second centennial of Darwin's birthday and the sesquicentennial of
publication of "The Origin of Species." Its subject is the period
preceding the publication of Darwin's fundamental works. The invited
speakers who confirmed their presence are Richard Burkhardt, Thomas
F. Glick and Nelson Papavero.
Scholars interested in presenting a paper should submit an abstract
with 500 to 800 words, plus bibliography, before July 30 (note this
is an extension of the previously announced deadline). Abstracts

There are funds provided by the ISHPSSB and by ABFHiB for graduate
students who will participate in the meeting.
