Graduate Program: The Center for Biology and Society at Arizona State
University is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications
for MS and PhD students. Students interested in history
and/or philosophy of science may earn an MS or PhD in Biology with a
concentration in Biology and Society, or a PhD in History and
Philosophy of Science. Deadline: 1 December 2017.

Postdoc: The University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for
a two-year postdoctoral fellowship on the Plantationocene. Applicants
should have some background in STS, Environmental Humanities, and/or
Political Ecology but might come from any relevant discipline.
Deadline: 15 December 2017.

Postdoc: Donald Hill Family Postdoctoral Fellowships, Dalhousie
University. These fellowships are designed to accelerate the careers
of recent doctoral graduates engaged in leading-edge research who have
also demonstrated an interest in the impact of technology on broader
society. They are restricted to Canadian citizens and permanent
residents, and renewable for up to 3 years.

Graduate Conference: "Philosophy of Biology," 7th Annual University of
Calgary Graduate Student Conference. The aim of the conference is to
explore the newest work at the intersection between philosophy and the
life and medical sciences. Submissions from both philosophers and
biologists are welcome, and there are no restrictions concerning
preferred topics or approaches to philosophy of biology. Deadline: 1
February 2018.

Workshop: "A Century of Engineering Life: Populations and Ecosystems,"
the annual MBL-ASU History of Biology Seminar, 17-22 May 2018, Marine
Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA. Deadline: 2 February 2018.

Workshop: "PSP2, A Summer Program for Underrepresented Groups in
Philosophy of Science," 16-20 July 2018, Center for Philosophy of
Science, University of Pittsburgh. The program is restricted to North
American undergraduate students. Housing, meals, and transportation
costs (US travel only) will be covered, and all course materials

Workshop: "Interdisciplinarity in the Life Sciences and Their
Philosophy," fifth biennial summer school of the European Advanced
School in the Philosophy of the Life Sciences (EASPLS), 10-14
September 2018, Konrad Lorenz Institute for Evolution and Cognition
Research (KLI), Klosterneuburg [near Vienna], Austria. Young scholars
(PhD students and early post-doctoral researchers) in the history,
philosophy and social studies of the life sciences (including
medicine) are invited to apply. Deadline: 28 February 2018.
