Davis, would like to especially encourage postocs in STS/HPS to apply 
for the University of California President's Postdoctoral Felowship 
Program to work at UC Davis.  The deadline for submitting 
applications for the 2008-2009 fellowships is November 15, 2007.

2. The Department of Philosophy at the University of California, 
Davis invites applications for two open faculty positions within the 
department, one at open rank and one at assistant or associate rank. 
The department has particular needs and interests in philosophy of 
science (including philosophy of biology), among other areas.  To be 
assured consideration in the first round, applications must be 
postmarked by November 26, 2007.

3. Frederick H. Burkhardt died September 23, 2007, following a 
serious illness, at the age of 95.

4. Pending budgetary approval, the Department of the History of 
Science at Harvard University is conducting an open-rank search in 
the 20th-century (and especially post-WWII) history of molecular 
biology, biotechnology, and/or the biomedical sciences.  Candidates 
who work at the interface of history of science and related fields 
such as sociology and anthropology are also welcome to apply.

5. Call for Abstracts:  "Translating ELSI:  Global Perspectives on 
the Ethical, Legal and Social Implications of Human Genome Research,"

7. The Tilburg Center for Logic and Philosophy of Science (TiLPS) 
invites applications for three- to nine-months visiting fellowships 
intended for advanced Ph.D. students or faculty. Candidates should 
work in one of the areas the Center covers and have a commitment to 
interdisciplinary and collaborative work.  The deadline for 
applications for the academic year 2008/09 is December 15, 2007.
