ISHPSSB 2015, 5-10 July 2015, Montreal, Canada. Deadline: 15 January 2015

Job: Assistant Professor of Science Communication, Michigan State
University. The position will be appointed jointly in the History,
Philosophy, and Sociology of Science (HPS) group in Lyman Briggs
College (75%) and in either the School of Journalism or the
Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (25%). Deadline: 6
January 2015.

Postdoc: Presidential Fellows in Society and Neuroscience, Columbia
University. For researchers who have earned the doctorate, or its
equivalent, in a humanities or social science discipline and who have
extensive acquaintance with and critical understanding of neuroscience
research. Deadline: 15 January 2015.

Postdoc: The Rotman Institute of Philosophy (at Western University) is
inviting applications for three Postdoctoral Fellowships in Applied
Ethics, Philosophy of Neuroscience (in collaboration with Western's
Brain and Mind Institute), and Foundations of Physics. Deadline: 15
January 2015.

Postdoc: Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship, Department of History and
Philosophy of Science, University of Pittsburgh.  The Fellowship is to
support a scholar with a clearly defined monograph project in some
area of the history of science or history and philosophy of science.
Deadline: 15 February 2015.

Summer School: "Life on Earth and Beyond – The History and Philosophy
of the Origin of Life," Island of Ven, Sweden, 4-6 May 2015. The
summer school is open for students and scientists in humanities,
natural, social and political sciences. Deadline: 15 January 2015.

Workshop: "Fostering Critical Thinking and Reflective Practice in
Times of Crisis," New England Workshop on Science and Social Change,
Woods Hole, MA, 23-27 May 2015. Applications are sought from teachers,
researchers, graduate students, and activists who are interested in
facilitating discussion, reflection, avid learning, and clarifying
one's identity and affinities in relation to the workshop topic.
Deadline: 31 January 2015.

Call for Papers: "Philosophy of Science," Fourth Annual Philosophy
Graduate Student Conference, University of Calgary, 13-14 March 2015.
Applications from philosophy of biology, physics, chemistry,
neuroscience, social science, and philosophy of mathematics will be
welcomed. Deadline: 1 January 2015.

Call for Abstracts: 15th Congress of Logic, Methodology, and
Philosophy of Science, Helsinki, 3-8 August 2015. Deadline: 9 January

Call for Abstracts: "The Origin of Life," Second Conference on History
and Philosophy of Astrobiology, Höör, Sweden, 8-10 May 2015. This
history and philosophy of science conference focuses on the transition
from non-living to living matter, on how chemical processes evolve
into biological ones, on the onset of biological evolution as well as
the tree of life.

Call for Abstracts: 8th Congress of the International Symbiosis
Society, University of Lisbon, 12-18 July 2015. Historians and
philosophy of biology may be particularly interested in the session
"Reticulate Evolution Before and After the Modern Synthesis:
Historical and Epistemological Perspectives and Wider Applications
Beyond Traditional Fields." Deadline: 1 April 2015.
