> Tanya Beyer and I had excellent views of the Hooded Warbler today at Cannon River Wilderness Park, south of Northfield, access on Hwy 20 (directions in previous post). We found it at about 3:15 pm where Dave Bartkey reported it yesterday, about 100 yards before the boardwalk area. It was singing before we spotted it, and continued singing after we continued down the trail. Its song differs a bit from the song I've heard previously from the Murphy- Hanrehan Preserve Hooded Warbler. What a stunning bird!

> Near the open area and meadow, a male Scarlet Tanager came in and perched on a tree close to the trail, which made the day almost perfect. We had seen both the male and female earlier, high in the trees. We heard a Cerulean Warbler numerous times, but today did not see it for more than a few seconds.
