Hey birders,
Ruth Amundson found a juvenile Yellow-crowned Night-Heron this morning in a
county ditch southwest of Lake Crystal.
Take CR109 north from Hwy 60 (at ethanol plant) and take the first right
(194th St). The bird has been seen on both sides of the road along the
county ditch about 0.5 miles east. The mudflat to the east of the ditch
had a nice assortment of shorebirds too: Stilt, Semipalmated, Pectoral,
Least, and Baird’s Sandpipers.
Happy birding!
