This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday October 10th, 2013.

An ARCTIC TERN was seen briefly on Lake Superior on the 28th on the
Minnesota side of the Superior Entry of Park Point in Duluth. Bruce Fall
found a PACIFIC LOON on the 29th near the Sky Harbor Airport of Park
Point, and a RED-THROATED LOON was seen here on the 6th.

A female SCARLET TANAGER was at the General Mills Research Nature Area
in Hennepin County on the 8th, and another was near Knife River in Lake
County on the 6th.

BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were in western Wright County on the 10th, and Pete
Makousky found a SPOTTED TOWHEE at Springbrook Nature Center in Fridley,
Anoka County, on the 4th. I also have reports of SURF SCOTER,
LONG-TAILED DUCK, THAYER'S GULL, GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL, and AMERICAN
PIPIT.
