I finally got over to see the Little Blue this morning at Turtle Lake. He
was perched along-side a Great White and a Great Blue on a boat moored at a
permanent dock to the south of the boat ramp. Saw the dark wing tips when
he was preening. An osprey was circling over the lake and only a single
killdeer was on the mud flat where the water has receded.
Also saw something I had never seen before. A small group of Canadian
geese were stirring up the water with their wings and then diving underwater
for several seconds before resurfacing. They were totally submerged and I
assume they were trying to feed on something. Diving geese?
