I located the light Snowy Owl at 8:00 sitting 400 yards out in a plowed field north of 700th St and 1/2 mile west of 110th Ave. It was still in the same location at 4:00. I was heading home along 700th and spotted what I thought was the other Snowy Owl sitting on a utility pole 1/4 mile west of CR 3 (130th). When I viewed the owl with my binoculars, however, it turned out to be a Short-eared Owl. It then flew south working a nearby ditch.
