This is the Duluth Birding Report for March 14th, 2013 sponsored by the
Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

Good numbers of GREAT GRAY OWLS have been seen in the past week in and
around Tower in northern St. Louis County, and along the North Shore in
Cook County. A SNOWY OWL was seen on the 10th near the Culver's
restaurant in Two Harbors. It has also been seen in recent weeks near
the railroad yards in town.

Flocks of BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS are being seen in Duluth around the UMD
campus, along West Skyline Drive, and near Hawk Ridge. Spring migrants
have begun to arrive in the area during the past couple of weeks,
including ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, MERLIN, and RING-BILLED GULLS.

The next scheduled update of this report will be on Thursday, March
21st.

The telephone number of the Duluth Rare Bird Alert is 218-834-2858.
