Today, June 12th, the Raptor Center rec'd a report of a Snowy Owl sitting on
a roof (for several days) in Vadnais Heights. The report said that it had
killed and eaten a black squirrel.
Volunteer Terry Headley drove to Cty Rd E and Labor Rd and was able to view
the bird for several minutes before it flew off. The Snowy was a very dirty
colored male and had a numbered wing band. Turns out he was banded in Duluth
3 years ago. The bird was not seen again. Please report any sightings to
the Raptor Center at 612-624-4745.
