Lake County
Whyte Rd; 1.5 miles northeast of its junction with Stoney River Road.
Hoar frost coated every branch in the open bog creating a postcard landscape.
One Great Gray perched on a tiny Tamarack then flew to a larger spruce. Less than a minute later it disappeared into the dense spruce forest...a very skittish bird. I stuck around for a half hour but it did not reappear.
No owls on Stoney River Road.
