This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, July 16th 2009.

Those two SNOWY EGRETS were still at the Purgatory Creek wetlands in
Eden Prairie, Hennepin County on the 14th.

At least one NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was still in Stillwater, Washington
County on the 16th, near the Goodwill Industries building south of state
highway 36, about half a mile east of Stillwater Blvd.

Also in Washington County, a first year male SUMMER TANAGER was reported
on the 12th at Afton State Park along the west side of the Africa Loop
of the race trail just north of its junction with the Back 40 Loop.

A few additional fall migrant shorebirds been reported in southern
Minnesota, including SOLITARY SANDPIPER, SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, and
RED-NECKED PHALAROPE.
