I've been haunting 700th St. for weeks hoping to put Snowy Owl bookends on 2012 (Jan. 6 and Dec. ?) but to no avail.

This morning at 8:30 I found one owl west of 110th Ave. on 700th St. initially on a utility pole then flying south alighting in the field. Locating the bird sitting in the field will be challenging as fall plowing and tiling have left the fields "cloddy" with many owl lookalikes.

Happy New Year. Here's to 2013 bookends.
