At approximately 9:00 AM this morning (9/27), I was treated to a
Townsend's Solitaire at Carlton / Tofte Peak, Cook County. The bird was
originally scoped atop a few coniferous trees on Carlton, before flying in,
to within 20 meters of me on Tofte Peak. It allowed good looks at close
range before eventually flying off to the east, into the sun.

Also, yesterday (9/26), hiking in towards Lake Agnes along the Superior
Hiking Trail (from the Caribou Trail), I encountered a confiding Connecticut
Warbler, just off the trail, now getting a tad on the late side for northern
Minnesota.

    Good Birding,
       Cameron Rutt
       Duluth,
       St. Louis County
