Erika and I listed an American Woodcock while we were stopped on Hiawatha
Ave. at an interminable left turn light to 46th street. This was at 4:47
PM on 2 April in completely urban surroundings. The bird flew at moderate
height towards the north. Quite possibly the woodcock took wing somewhere
along Minnehaha Creek, which is only a block or two the the south.
