Saw the Varied Thrush (very briefly) near Sherburne NWR on Friday afternoon,
missed the Townsend's Solitaire at Ann Lake.

Saw the Black-headed Grosbeak in Duluth yesterday (life bird for both of
us) - missed the Spotted Towhee near Bruno. Enjoyed Great Black-Backed,
Iceland and two Thayer's Gulls at the 27th Street waste station (could not
find a Glaucous there or at Canal Park) - few Bohemian Waxwings in Two
Harbors. Ony Pine Siskins seen/heard among winter finches.

Thanks to everyone for their prayers and good wishes for Nathan. One one
hand, he had a second seizure Friday; on the other hand, he was cleared to
go to Duluth yesterday. More testing coming coming this week, MRI was
clear.

Good birding (and New Year) to all.
