Last evening (16th) there was an unmarked adult Mute Swan at the power plant causeway. Among the 100's of Canada Geese and 1,000+ Mallards, I found only one Green-winged Teal, a few C. Mergs. and one pelican. No other water birds. Once again, about 600-700 gulls circled high overhead and did not land until 5:05pm. I saw no gulls on the water or the ice prior to that. At that time it was too dark to safely ID the birds. I hope they are more cooperative for tomorrow's Bloomington CBC.
