This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday October 4th, 2012.

I have a secondhand report of a GLOSSY IBIS seen on the 3rd along Blue
Earth County Road 26 about half a mile west of Madison Lake.

On the 5th, there were two ROSS'S GEESE and several CACKLING GEESE at
the the golf course in Two Harbors, Lake County. And female HARLEQUIN
DUCK was seen on the the same day by Kim Eckert at nearby Agate Bay.

Two SURF SCOTERS and a BLACK SCOTER were found on the 5th at Paradise
Beach in Cook County. This is about 14 miles up the shore of Lake
Superior from Grand Marais.

On September 28th, a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE was seen at the General Mills
Research Nature Area in Golden Valley, Hennepin County.

New reports of migrants seen over the past week include GOLDEN EAGLE,
AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER, BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, SANDERLING, THAYER'S GULL,
and COMMON REDPOLL.

The next scheduled update of this tape is Thursday October 11th, 2012.
