Hi All--

John Holden and I found a Snowy Owl on a pole east of Vermillion on 180th
street on Wednesday morning. The bird appeared to be sound asleep. Twice it
"yawned" though perhaps this was a behavior preceding regurgitating a
pellet--we were not sure which (we never saw a pellet). We made an effort
not to disturb the owl and never flushed the bird. Nevertheless, here are
some striking photos--
