Jim Otto and I observed an adult male Harlequin Duck at Pt. Douglas, Washington County, late this afternoon. In the early afternoon another birder at Pt. Douglas told me he had seen the Harlequin under the railroad bridge, I checked the Prescott marina area but wasn't able to locate it. Jim and I finally relocated it at Pt. Douglas shortly after 4:00 amidst hundreds of Common Goldeneyes that had just flown in for the evening.
Pt. Douglas park is located on Hwy 10 across from Prescott, Wisconsin.

While I was observing the Harlequin Duck Scott Meyer called me to say he had located a Snowy Owl at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. When Scott called, the owl was perched on one of the communication towers near the UPS facility on Cargo Road. I managed to make it to the airport before it was completely dark, when I arrived at 5:00 the heavily-barred owl was atop a street light near the glycol facility.
