This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, September 10th 2009.

A well-described SWALLOW-TAILED KITE was reported on the 6th at the
junction of Lake County Road 2 and state highway 1. I have no further
details.

The juvenile LITTLE BLUE HERON is still being seen at Turtle Lake County
Park in Shoreview, Ramsey County. Check near the boat launch on the
southeastern shore of Turtle Lake along Hodgson Road about a mile south
of county road I.

On September 7th, a SNOWY EGRET was at Agassiz NWR in Marshall County.
It was seen at Parker Pool along County Road 7 west of refuge
headquarters.

On the 6th, a RED KNOT was near Pelican Island on Leech Lake in Cass
County.

And a possible WESTERN TANAGER was reported last weekend from near
Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden in Theodore Wirth Park, Minneapolis. It
was seen from the trail that runs along the north side of the gate.

The next scheduled update of this tape is Thursday, September 17th 2009.
