We had a Golden Eagle stop by this afternoon, to spend a few minutes soaring over our home along the St. Croix River, about 3 miles downstream from Taylors Falls, Chisago County, MN. There was an adult Bald Eagle using the same thermals over the river bluffs. A mob of crows stopped by and encouraged the Golden Eagle to move on. The golden nape on the eagle was absolutely stunning in the bright afternoon sun today.

A big thank you to Scott Mehus, at the National Eagle Center, for his great Golden Eagle identification class! It worked for me. Thank you, thank you, ...
