Harassing crows drew my attention to a snowy owl perched on top of a
building in Roseville, Ramsey County. This was on my way to work at about
6:20 am. The owl was perched on the top of a clock tower on a large
apartment building called "Rosedale Tower", just south of Hwy 36 between
Fairview and Snelling. I happened to have binoculars in the car and managed
to pull off in time to view it fly from its perch and over my head as crows
pursued it. It flew west of Fairview and out of sight. I did see some dark
barring on the wings as it flew, suggesting it was a female or first year
bird.
