I'm sending this email copied from the Wisconsin birding listserv. Wanted to make note for anyone thinking about coming up to the Twin Ports area (Duluth/Superior). The first set of photos are from this morning. Latter photos are from earlier this month. Robbye Johnson and I ran into each other on the lake-side of Lot 1 this morning (Wisconsin Point), and and scanned around for jaegers, and any other birds moving through. We had at least two Parasitic Jaegers and one distant Long-tailed Jaeger. Below are pictures of the Long-tailed Jaeger, all at a distance. This bird was long/slender- winged, long-handed, and had a tail/rear body profile that was elongated relative to the Parasitic Jaegers we had seen earlier this morning. Was able to pick out the long-winged-ness through the scope!
