After striking out on some out-of-town Snowies, I was happy to find my own Saturday evening around 5PM SW of the town of Lewiston. It was 200 yds. SE of the intersection of County Road 18 and Cemetery Rd. I first spotted it from 18, but there was some traffic, and I relocated it from Cemetery Rd., a wider, less-traveled road.
The only other Winona County Snowy Owl I know about from this winter was posted to the Winona Bird Club Facebook page by Dave Palmquist on 1/10. This was reported to be along MN Hwy 43, about 4 miles south of I-90. Both birds appeared to be almost entirely white.
