At about Noon Sunday, I found an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull, visible from the Prairie Island spillway:

The bird was with a distant flock loafing on the ice NNE of the viewing location. Basically all water visible from this vantage point is in Minnesota waters. There are probably a hundred or so gulls here and several hundred more at the barge harbor (intersection of Prairie Island Road and Riverview Dr). Mostly Ring-billed, but there are many Herrings in the area as well. There has been a Lesser Black-backed in the La Crosse area, so perhaps this is the same bird.
