Good morning,

The Northern Hawk Owl is still in the area that Kristine reported it.

It currently about 1/2 mile south of the Intersection of County Road 12
(Tagus ave) and 230th street.

There is some CRP land thon the west side of the road and some trees on the
east side of the road thast is is going between.

It is actively hunting.

Subject: Northern Hawk Owl in McLeod County

I was told my find today may be of interest to this group. Today while
looking for a snowy, I was driving just north of Hutchinson (McLeod County)
towards Meeker County on Tagus Avenue and noticed what I thought was a small
hawk on a utility line. I slowed down when it appeared to be something else.
I stopped and snapped a photo and later identified it as a Northern Hawk
Owl. The exact location would be County Rd 12 (Tagus Avenue) and the 230th
Street intersection. Here is a link to a photo:

questions you may have!
