While count interpreting migrating songbirds and raptors today at Hawk
Ridge, I spotted a CLARK'S NUTCRACKER flying by. The bird was flying quite
low over the tree tops, and was last seen heading northeast. It was really
exciting to see! There was a non-stop stream of Red-tailed Hawks throughout
much of today at Hawk Ridge.

Earlier this morning, I saw a flock of 10 Pine Grosbeaks fly overhead. I'm
off to the Twin Cities now, to join up for some birds and beers, and to
attend the Focus on Diversity: Changing the face of American Birding
conference that takes place tomorrow.

Good birding,
Erik Bruhnke
Duluth, MN
