There were not too many gulls around today but a few were circling
around the western outflow of Black Dog Lake in Burnsville (~1/4 mile
east of 35W on Black Dog Road). A Glaucous Gull was present when I
arrived and was observed by several people. A Thayer's Gull showed up
a little later.

There also was an interesting hawk along the edge of the Burnsville
Landfill (end of Washburn Ave, north of Hwy 13). I think it is a dark
morph "Western" type Red-tailed Hawk but I'd be interested to hear what
others think.
