Hi
Sunday when I was on my way home from looking for and not finding the Barrows Goldeneye in Anoka I saw and photographed a Red Shouldered Hawk near where I live in Coon Rapids. I at first mis identified it as a Coopers Hawk but that was soon corrected. Someone reminded me Sunday that I hadn’t posted anything on here in a while so I thought I would post this. The area where I saw it was along Coon Creek and Egret. I actually saw it in the Creekside Mobile home park just to the right when you enter off of Egret. I watched him and photographed him for maybe five minutes then he flew west towards the creek. I spoke to my friend Lyle Bradley, who some of you surely know, and is an excellent birder and showed him my photo and he said that it should stay all winter around here. Of course this is a residential area so if you go there keep that in mind. Here is a link to my photo of this beautiful bird. https://www.flickr.com/photos/ronsthoughts/ <https://www.flickr.com/photos/ronsthoughts/>
