This is the Duluth Birding Report for March 24th, 2010 sponsored by the
Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

Several gull species were still present at Canal Park in Duluth on the
19th, including ICELAND GULL, two THAYER'S GULLS, GLAUCOUS GULL, a
first-cycle LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, and an adult GREAT BLACK-BACKED
GULL. Two GOLDEN EAGLES and 152 BALD EAGLES were seen on the 19th at the
West Skyline Hawk Count.

A flock of 72 LONG-TAILED DUCKS was seen on the 17th at Agate Bay in Two
Harbors. Bill Tefft saw a flock of about 200 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS on the
18th in Ely.

Warren Nelson reported that a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER overwintering in
Aitkin County at Gun Lake was joined by a second bird on the 22nd.

Erik Bruhnke reported several new arrivals during the past week at the
Sax-Zim Bog, including NORTHERN HARRIER, AMERICAN KESTREL, EASTERN
MEADOWLARK, and RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD.
