There had been a Varied Thrush at home just north of Itasca St. Park at
the Intersection of St. Hi.#200 and Cty. #2 from Nov. 30 into last week
but the bird has apparently left the area. A picture was in the Park
Rapids Enterprise this week. I also want to note that we have decided to
postpone the Itasca St. Park CBC scheduled for this Sunday. The new
date for the Itasca St. Park CBC will be Sunday December 21 to meet at
the Visitor Center at the east entrance near Douglas Lodge at 7:45 a.m.
to 8:00 a.m. Bring a lunch if coming. It is now anticipated that the
roads in the area will be essentially undriveable on Sunday with the
high winds and ample snow on Saturday night until Monday morning. Kathy
Wurzer on MPR this morning said that the storm forecast for Saturday
night and Sunday morning will be potentially life threatening. Gee, a
good old fashioned blizzard.
