Spotted an adult female hunting along Polk Co 20. Totally white and huge.
I thought for sure she was going to get hit by a truck as she flew low,
towards the shoulder of the road. She stopped short of the truck and
grabbed a rodent (feeding on grasses and grains exposed by yesterday's snow
plows) with one foot and flew back into the field where she gulped it down.

Also spotted 4 Rough-legged Hawks on power poles... and an American Robin
singing in a spruce heavy with snow just outside my door.
