I ran the command df -aek and got the following results. It looks like /usr is at 95% capacity. (Is that too close for comfort?) Most of my data is in /export/home and I am at only 31% of capacity there - so far. I suppose that is where Tod has run into problems.
So what do we do to fix the problem? The data can be offloaded simply enough. Does that also fix the inode problem? Are they freed up when the files are deleted?

You may have hit your inode limit. This happened to me once on an JXA-8900.
