Ottawa - Democracies Online

On Monday, December 13 I will speaking to the INTEGRATING GOVERNMENT
with NEW TECHNOLOGIES: SERVICE INTEGRATION IN THE NEW ENVIRONMENTS
conference <http://www.rileyis.com/seminars/dec99/> in Ottawa,
Canada.

Following lessons learned with a great "Democracies Online" social
event in London, I am organizing a gathering from around 3 p.m - 6:30
p.m. on Saturday, December 11 at the Elephant & Castle in the Rideau
Centre. Please RSVP via e-mail <[log in to unmask]> to give me a
sense of who to expect. Bring a friend and meet others interested in
politics/government/citizen participation/media online. To receive
any
last minute updates, join the DO-CANADA e-list below.

On Wednesday, December 15 I will also be meeting with a group from
Canadian federal agencies (contact Elisabeth Richard
<[log in to unmask]> for more information) in the morning. On Sunday
and Wednesday afternoon I should have time to meet with others in the
"democracy online" community. I need your help being referred to
people involved with:

1. Canadian Parliament's Web Site and Internet Use Strategies
2. Prime Minister Chretien's Web Site
3. Directors of Online Strategy for the major Political Parties
4. Hosts of Online Civic Consultations/Virtual Conferences
5. CBC's and other national media site online political coverage
6. Online specialist political consultants
7. Developers of government online "portal" sites
8. Organizations actively using the Internet to lobby
9. Who did I miss?

(Was this forwarded to you? Visit my web site for background
information and articles: http://www.publicus.net )

Feel free to pass this message on to those you think would like to
join us on Saturday or to anyone who might know those connected to the
list above.

To join a special e-mail list for my contacts in Canada send a
message to <[log in to unmask]>. I will use this e-list
to provide updates about my trip and as a simple way to introduce you
to each other.

Cheers,
Steven Clift - [log in to unmask]
