How do places become holy?

The cave-like tomb or 'holy sepulchre'
where Jesus was buried in Jerusalem
also houses the Calvary, or Golgotha,
where Christ was crucified. It is one of
Christianity's most sacred spots.

Destroyed in successive wars, it was
finally rebuilt in the middle ages
by the Crusaders.

Feuding Crusader factions were
unable for quite some time to decide
who would hold the keys to the
Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Their decision? To give the keys
to a Muslim Arab family, the Nusseibehs.

Today the Nusseibeh family is still one
of the most prominent and respectable
in all of Palestine, and they are asking
once again for responsibility.

Sari Nusseibeh of Al-Quds University
one of the most prominent Palestinian
peace activists, and brother of CERJer
Saida Nusseibeh -- is joining hands
with Ami Ayalon of Israel to call
for Peace and Equity-Restorative Justice
for Palestine/Israel!

Please go to one of these sites and sign
the Nusseibeh-Ayalon agreement
for Israeli-Palestinian peace:
