There is a new petition on the "E-The People" web site asking the Governor
of California to use his efforts to eliminate or amend California's
3-Strikes law.  If you agree that people receiving life sentences for
nonviolent and non-serious offenses is not only cost-inefficient but also
barbaric and an affront to our common humanity, please go to the web site
and sign the petition.

The petition will be e-mailed to Governor Gray Davis on May 10, 1999.  It

After you sign the petition, you will also be given an opportunity to sign
