ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT MEETINGS DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM
PUBLIC AND NONPROFIT DIVISION
ATTENTION ALL DOCTORAL STUDENTS! We invite you to register for the Public
and Nonprofit Division Doctoral Consortium to be held at the 2002 Academy of
Management meetings in Denver on August 9-14. The theme of the meetings
this year is "Building Effective Networks". Doctoral students who are in
their dissertation proposal stage, ready to defend their dissertation, or
who have passed their qualifying exams and are beginning their research are
encouraged to register for the Doctoral Consortium. There is no charge to
attend the Doctoral Consortium, but participants must be registered for the
Academy meetings (nonmember student registrations are available). See

NEW RESEARCH: WHERE IS THE FIELD GOING? (1:00 - 4:15)
Students will hear presentations from a panel of distinguished researchers
who will address future directions in both nonprofit and public sector
research. Students will also meet with panelists for small group sessions
to receive feedback on their own research agendas.

JOB STRATEGIES: CHOOSING THE RIGHT JOB (9:00 - 11:00)
How do you go about making one of the most important decisions in your
professional life? Students will hear how successful academics in the
public and nonprofit fields negotiated the job market. Panelist will share
their experiences and answer questions about the plans and concerns of those
soon to embark on the job process.
