* New Directions in Science Education

Learn new approaches to teaching science in schools and colleges and
promoting public understanding of science

The course consists of three two-day interactive, experiential workshops:
* Science in its Social Context (July 13-14)
Enhance inquiry-based approaches by placing developments in science
and technology in their social context.
* Ill-Defined Encounters Are The Right Kind! : Problem-Based Learning
(July 20-21)
Understand science by exploring the thought, habits of mind and
actions associated with trying to solve real world problems that face
scientists
* Aligning Innovation with Science Education Standards (July 27-28)
Use standards approach as a useful tool in designing science
curricula, including innovative and progressive ones

Single workshop and non-credit options available

Also offered: workshops and a course on Critical & Creative Thinking
in the Workplace
