Human Rights Day Talk
"Refugees, Human Rights  and the Asylum Network"

Nancy Pearson, MSW, LISW 
(Center for Victims of Torture) 
 
Nancy Pearson, from the Centers for Victims of Torture, will speak about
the international human rights situation for refugees, address local
refugee contexts, and discuss the Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights,
Center for Victims of Torture, Physicians for Human Rights (MN) Asylum
Network as an example of how healthcare providers have stepped forward to
defend human rights for immigrants seeking political asylum.  She has
worked with torture survivors from many countries at CVT and with women
torture survivors in the Phillipines and in Guinea.
