Tomorrow evening, December 4, 2002, Mrs. Nane Annan, the "First Lady of
theUnited Nations" will be at the University of St. Thomas O'Shaughnessy
Education Center (NOT St. Catherine's) from 6-8 PM. We have had a very
good response. Thank you! But because of the importance of her message,
we would like to encourage you to invite friends. At the very bottom of
this e-mail are some links to better prepare you for the event.

If you will be driving, (click here for directions/parking instructions)
<http://www.stthomas.edu/maps/stpaul/stpaul04.htm> There is parking on
the street, but unless you have a permit, you will need to park about 4
blocks away. The best bet is to park in th St. Thomas Ramp. You can get
there from Summit (west bound) or Selby. It costs about 50 cents per
half hour.

Light Hors d'ourvres will be served in the lobby starting at 6 PM.
Minnesota Public Radio <http://news.mpr.org/programs/midday/> will be
recording the presentation. Van Patrick, of the KS95 Van and Cheryl

Spouce of United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, Mrs. Annan is
sometimes called the "First Lady of the World." But she is here on a
more serious note.

Every 14 seconds, a child loses one or both parents to HIV/AIDS. There
are already an estimated 14 million children orphaned by the dreaded
disease worldwide. In places like sub-Saharan Africa, 28.1 million
people - of a population of 40 million in the region - are living with
AIDS. Generations are being lost.

An estimated 45 million new infections are predicted between 2002 and
2010. By simply scaling up current efforts, we can prevent up to 28
million of those new infections. Join us to find out how you can help.

An extraordinary woman in her own right, Mrs. Annan should offer a
moment we will long remember.

This should be a very special event. I hope to see you there.

While there is no charge for this event and it is open to the public and
press, we would appreciate you registering. You can register by
